Samir Nasri, a former Arsenal and Manchester City player, has advised Kylian Mbappe to contemplate staying in France rather than pursuing a transfer to Real Madrid during the upcoming summer window. Nasri, who joined Arsenal from Marseille in 2008, suggested that if Marseille had been owned by Qataris during his time there, he would have chosen to stay. He encouraged Mbappe to emulate this approach by becoming a crucial figure at his current club.
“As a Parisian myself, if I were in his position, I would opt to stay at PSG instead of joining Real Madrid, even if it meant assisting them in securing their 50th Champions League title.”
“If Marseille had been owned by Qataris while I was with the club, I would never have departed. Being the central figure in your hometown is a preferable option,” expressed the former French international in an interview with Le10Sport.
Recent reports suggest that Kylian Mbappe has decided to forgo a loyalty bonus offered by PSG. In exchange, PSG has agreed not to impede his departure if he chooses to move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024.
However, Real Madrid issued an official statement on Saturday, stating that they have not initiated any contact with the PSG player.
Currently, the French team trails OGC Nice, the leaders, by just one point, while Real Madrid finds themselves two points behind Girona, who unexpectedly lead the La Liga table after 12 matches.
